TAMC RAIL LINE ACQUISTION 12-03-10 16:30 a.v.

3 acres of land was purchased this week by the Transportation Agency for Monterey County for a planned commuter rail project. The 110-million dollar real estate acquisition is expected to provide commuter line service with stations in Salinas, Castroville and Pajaro for service to Silicon Valley and the San Francisco Bay Area. The project, which is estimated to begin service by the year 2014, is in the final stages of an environmental review process with preliminary design work being done.
