The news is better today for folks in the Santa Cruz Mountains who are subject to PG&E’s Public Safety Power Shutoffs. Fewer households had their power turned off because the fierce winds anticipated never materialized. Originally an estimated 5-thousand residents were expected to be in the dark but instead only 600 customers lost electricity.
In Monterey county, 651 households were shut off. PG&e has crews on the ground today inspecting the lines and expects all all power to be restored by tomorrow.
