Monterey County Receives Grant to Address Jail Overcrowding- 2/26/15 9:00 S.G.

Monterey County officials have received funding to help address prison overcrowding. The county’s Superior Court has received a $338,000 grant from the Recidivism Reduction Fund which was established to reduce jail populations statewide. The money will be used to help officials identify inmates eligible for pretrial release. The grant program is allocating a total of $315 million to superior courts across California.
