Scientists aboard a Moss Landing Marine Research vessel have detected radiation from the Fukushima nuclear power plant accident. The researchers detected radioactive isotopes, particular to the Japanese nuclear power plant, in a sample taken 100 miles off the coast of Eureka. The sample was sent to a laboratory for analysis and verification. The radioactive contamination measured about 1000 times lower than levels considered dangerous by the EPA.
