The Salinas City Council voted to cut 1.39 million dollars from the Salinas Police Department’s share of the city’s budget. At this time the cuts impact positions that are not filled, however, in September (when 6 police officers are scheduled to retire)….the police department may be asking for an increase in the budget….so they can fill those positions.
