Dia De Los Muertos This Year 10-22-20 03:50 S.S.

Much like many things this year, Dia de los Muertos celebrations will look different this year, especially because some cemeteries will be closed, and people are being asked not to blend multiple households. Valley Catholic Cemetery in Watsonville is one that will be closed (from October 30th through November 2nd), however, Garden Of Memories Cemetery in Salinas will be open…..as long as people follow all of their protocols.
the following list are those rules:

1. Don’t gather with people outside your household
2. Wear a face mask
3. Maintain six-feet of distance with others
4. Don’t share food or drink

Similar situations can be found at other cemeteries around the Tri-County area, so people are encouraged to check-in with the cemeteries (where they plan to set up their Dia de los Muertos altars-for-loved-ones).

The Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History will offer several virtual Dia de los Muertos celebrations. More information on those can be found on-line at: SantaCruzMAH.org.
