A federal grand jury has indicted a former UC Santa Cruz student. 24-year-old Matthew Wilcox Hutchings of Soquel is charged with three counts of possession with intent to distribute controlled substances. An affidavit filed by an agent with Homeland Security alleges that Hutchings sold mushrooms and MDMA to an undercover agent three times in March and April. Hutchings was arrested on June 4 and is in federal custody. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison.
