SV Mayors Ask Newsom For Help 04-24-19 15:19 DC

The mayors of several South Monterey County cities are asking Governor Gavin Newsom to intervene in the decision as to where a new county courthouse will be constructed.

The mayors of Greenfield, Gonzales, Soledad and King City have signed a joint letter to the governor and the mayor of Salinas is expected to send a letter of his own.

The Salinas Valley mayors cite growth, citizen access, and fairness as reasons why the new courthouse should be built in Greenfield. But the mayors said they have so far been unsuccessful in convincing judicial authorities to build in Greenfield.

No word back from the governor at this time.
