Salinas Woman Gets Max Sentence for Human Trafficking 2-19-19 15:30 DC

A Salinas woman has been given a maximum sentence for human trafficking. Monterey County prosecutors say 44-year-old Regina Budiao persuaded a 16-year-old runaway to engage in a commercial sex act.

Prosecutors said that the victim was given drugs and alcohol and encouraged to earn money to support her drug habit. The incidents occurred in March 2018.

Budiao was sentenced to the maximum 12-year sentence in state prison.
