John Laird is tossing his hat in the ring for State Senate.
Laird announced yesterday he will run for the 17-th district state senate seat in 20-20.
The 68-year-old democrat most recently served as state secretary of natural resources under Governor Jerry Brown.
Laird says he plans to make the impact of climate change, wildfires and protecting California’s ocean policies a priority.
