Dr. Joel Wallach

A biomedical research pioneer, Dr. Joel D. Wallach spent more than 40 years in the field of Veterinary Medicine, observing and researching the effects of individual nutrients on animal health, before becoming a Naturopathic Physician in 1982. Today, Dr. Wallach is renowned for his groundbreaking research on the health benefits of selenium and other minerals. He currently dedicates his time to lecturing throughout the world on the therapeutic benefits of vitamins and minerals, and on lobbying the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on behalf of the dietary supplement industry.

Dr. Wallach has been appearing recently with George Noory on Coast to Coast AM.

Dr. Joel Wallach begins the show today discussing the Covid 19 numbers. Comparing the numbers of infections and deaths in Thailand and Italy. Stating that Italy has way more infections and deaths than Thailand. Contending Italians eat more gluten damaging their intestines. Compromising their ability to absorb nutrients. Then damaging the bone marrow's ability to create white blood cells. Hurting the immune system's ability to fight off the corona virus.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article regarding a study of vitamin D affect on the corona virus. Those with the highest blood levels of vitamin D lowered their risk of dying from Covid 19 by 52% compared to those who were decficient. Researchers are advocating people supplement with vitamin D to help boost their immune systems.

Stating this is because Californians are eating wheat and the people in Thailand are eating rice and yams. Contending that those eating gluten damage their intestines. So they aren't absorbing nutrients making their immune systems compromised.

Contending that these conditions such as obestiy, type 2 diabetes, heart disease and high blood pressure can cause them to have a negative outcome. Asserting these conditions are all due to nutritional deficiencies and can be prevented and reversed.

With only one in four having it under control. Between 2003 and 2014 hypertension cost the U.S. $131 billion each year. Researchers found that some herbs can help lower blood pressure such as;garlic, cinnamon, basil, cardamom, ginger and hawthorn.

Contending that interview will be available to the public within a few weeks. Asserting that he and Dr. Lipton are considered to be the fathers of the science.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article regarding a study from Canada. The study found that pregnant women who take antidepressants are at greater risk of developing gestational diabetes. The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention states that two to 10 percent of pregnancies in the U.S. are affected by gestational diabetes each year. Blood sugar levels go back to normal after giving birth with about 50% of women with the condition go on to develop type 2 diabetes. Pregnant women who took antidepressants had a 19% increased risk of gestational diabetes. While those taking venlafaxine or amitriptyline increased their risk 27% and 52% respectively.
