Dr. Joel Wallach

A biomedical research pioneer, Dr. Joel D. Wallach spent more than 40 years in the field of Veterinary Medicine, observing and researching the effects of individual nutrients on animal health, before becoming a Naturopathic Physician in 1982. Today, Dr. Wallach is renowned for his groundbreaking research on the health benefits of selenium and other minerals. He currently dedicates his time to lecturing throughout the world on the therapeutic benefits of vitamins and minerals, and on lobbying the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on behalf of the dietary supplement industry.

Dr. Wallach has been appearing recently with George Noory on Coast to Coast AM.

Stating that they are all due to nutrional deficiencies during conception or gestation. Contending doctors are just milking the insurance companies for money.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article concerning a study of the gut microbiome. Researchers found a link between gut disbiosis and heart disease. Finding that people whose gut bacteria was out of balance had a greater risk of developing high blood pressure and heart disease.

Stating they are all preventable through proper diet and nutritional supplementation. Contending that most of these are also reverable through lifestyle changes and supplementation.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a survey of diabetics. Finding that nearly half don't always take their medications because they can't afford them. Three companies Eli Lily, Sanofi and Novo Nordisk control 99% of the market. There also is no generic version of insulin even though the drug has been around for 100 years. From 2003 to 2013 the price of insulin has nearly tripled.

Stating that accord to the government medical mistakes at hopitals and clinics by doctors is now the 3rd leading cause of death in the U.S. Asserting that over 1.5 million patients are injured, infected or killed by the medical industry every year. Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a study of caffiene's effect on heart health. It's been known for several years that coffee and caffiene has positive effects on the heart. This most recent study was designed to see how this positive effect works. Specifically working with a cell cycle inhibitor gene known as mitochondrial p27.

With the advent of the big pharmaceutical companies now people think of drugs when they think of medicines. Contending for the most part we don't need these drugs. As most drugs only treat symptoms not the root cause of the the health challenge.

Finding fasting can trigger metabolic switching and evolutionary adaptation. Fasting has been linked with lower blood pressure, cholesterol and resting heart rates. Ben has been advocating fasting for decades.
