Dr. Joel Wallach

A biomedical research pioneer, Dr. Joel D. Wallach spent more than 40 years in the field of Veterinary Medicine, observing and researching the effects of individual nutrients on animal health, before becoming a Naturopathic Physician in 1982. Today, Dr. Wallach is renowned for his groundbreaking research on the health benefits of selenium and other minerals. He currently dedicates his time to lecturing throughout the world on the therapeutic benefits of vitamins and minerals, and on lobbying the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on behalf of the dietary supplement industry.

Dr. Wallach has been appearing recently with George Noory on Coast to Coast AM.

The study of seven states found that in four years the number of autism spectrum disorder rose some 40% in the state of New Jersey. Going from 19.7 per 1000 in 2010 to 28.4 per 1000 in 2914. With the highest prevalence in African American and Hispanic boys in New Jersey.

Challenges such as cardiomyopathy heart disease and deep vein thrombosis just to name a couple. Stating that you can't these nutrients from foods because they're not in the food. Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article concerning a study of cancer cells. Researchers from several Universities used two cancer cells one that contained extra glucose and the other didn't. One set of cells were given a compound that inhibits glucose transport into cells. Another set were given thapsigargin which increases the level of calcium in cells. Finding the cells with extra glucose were unaffected those with limited reserves were killed off.

Asserting that this is appalling and should not happen ever in America. Stating the reason our grandparents lived long lives was because they had nutrients in their foods. Contending that in their youth they heated their homes and cooked with wood. Putting the wood ash in their gardens because the wood ash was actually minerals.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article about a large study of alcohol. Moderate drinking is considered to be two drinks daily for men and one for women. A drink consisting of 5 ounces of wine, 12 ounces of beer and a 1.5 ounce of hard alcohol. Asking over 500,000 Chinese men and women about their drinking habits. Finding that those drinking moderately had an increased risk of hypertension and stroke. It should be noted that most of the people in the study were drinking hard alcohol.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article concerning a Harvard Medical School study on colon cancer. The study found that women who were given antibiotics for an extended period of time (more than two weeks) had an increased risk of developing colon cancer. Women who were given antibiotics for two months in their 20s and 30% had a 36% increased risk of colon cancer compared to women who didn't take the drugs. Women who were given extended antibiotics in their 40s and 50s had even a greater risk of developing colon cancer.
