Dr. Joel Wallach

A biomedical research pioneer, Dr. Joel D. Wallach spent more than 40 years in the field of Veterinary Medicine, observing and researching the effects of individual nutrients on animal health, before becoming a Naturopathic Physician in 1982. Today, Dr. Wallach is renowned for his groundbreaking research on the health benefits of selenium and other minerals. He currently dedicates his time to lecturing throughout the world on the therapeutic benefits of vitamins and minerals, and on lobbying the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on behalf of the dietary supplement industry.

Dr. Wallach has been appearing recently with George Noory on Coast to Coast AM.

Dr. Joel Wallach begins the show today discussing SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome). Stating that the rates vary from state to state. Because some states require infant formulas to contain certain nutrients. Contending that SIDS is due to nutritional deficiencies. Stating the women of child bearing age should be supplementing with all 90 essential nutrients prior to conception.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article about a New Jersey surgical clinic. The clinic is now sending out letters to nearly four thousand former patients. The letter is asking the patients to go get blood tests. Because they may have been exposed to hepatitis B, hepatitis C or HIV. After state regulators found lapses in infection control in sterilization/cleaning instruments and injections of medications.

Asserting that the link between cholesterol consumption and atherlosclerosis is a failed medical theory. Conteniding that butter contains good fats that the human body need for good health.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article concering a link between heartburn drugs and infections. A metanalysis of 16 previous studies of heartburn drugs of nearly 8000 people. Those who took these heartburn drugs had a 50% increased risk of having recurrent Clostridium difficile infections. Recent studies have also been seeing increases in C. difficile infections in younger healthy people.
