Dr. Joel Wallach begins the show today discussing cardiomyopathy heart disease. Outlining two young athletes that recently died from this disease. Stating that he knows what causes this disease. Contending that it is due to nutritional deficiencies. Also citing several professional athletes who he helped maintain their careers.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article regarding a study from Harvard Medical School. Researchers examined the effects of 10 dietary factors, including the consumption of fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds and processed meats. The results revealed the annual cost of cardiometabolic diseases caused by a poor diet is about $300 per person or $50 billion nationally. Poor diet accounted for !8% of all heart disease, stroke and type 2 diabetes.
