Monologue

Dr. Joel Wallach begins the show discussing a study from Tufts University. The study concluded that supplementation with vitamins and minerals wasn't as good as getting nutrients from foods. Doc disagrees stating that fertilzers only contain three NPK. Asserting that the nutrients aren't in the food. So it is necessary to supplement with all 90 essential nutrients.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article concerning a couple of studies on magnesium. Both done at the Vanderbilt Cancer Center found that magnesium manages the levels of vitamin D. Which controls calcium, phosphorus and other minerals. People with low levels of vitamin D supplementing with magnesium saw their vitamin D levels normalize. In the U.S. two out of every five Americans have low levels of vitamin D.
