Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article concerning a study from Columbia University. Researchers found that adding omega 3 fatty acids to the diets of pregnant mice. They reduced the incidence of miscarriages and stillbirths. Finding that the omega 3s inhibited a common bacterium that causes 30% of preterm births. The bacterium is normaly found in the mouth but can get into the blood stream through bleeding gums. Eventually getting to the uterus and placenta and can trigger miscarriage or stillbirth.Callers
