Dr. Wallach starts the show discussing a statement recently made by a former Noble Peace Prize co-winner. James Watson stated gene sequencing for treating cancer is useless. Contending that most of studies and research currently being performed to treat chronic diseases are also worthless.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article regarding a report released by the CDC. Citing that an estimated 79 million Americans that have pre-diabetes and 90% don't realize they have the disease. The report also found that people taking medications for high blood pressure or high cholesterol were more likely they to know they have pre-diabetes.

Monologue

Dr. Wallach starts the show discussing the link between obesity and arthritis. Asserting that main stream medical doctors say that being over weight and obese contributes to arthritis by putting undue stress on load bearing joints. Doc contends that the two do have somethning in common but one does not cause the other. He believes that both are caused by nutritional deficiencies and that is the only link.

Pearls of Wisdom

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss two news stories with the first concerning an FDA report on airline food. The report found that not only does the food taste bad it may actually be bad for you. The FDA looked at the kitchens on the food companies that supply the major airlines and found cockroaches, flies and mice. Many kitchens had employees with poor hygience, used unclean equipment and had food improperly stored. They also briefly discuss a study that found a link between women having several children and an increased risk of strokes.
