Take A Look At Some Local Flooding

PLANS TO DEVELOP A YOUTH HOSTEL ON A PARCEL OF LAND ON THE FORMER FORT ORD, WILL BE UP FOR CONSIDERATION TODAY.   PLANNING COMMISSIONERS WITH THE CITY OF SEASIDE ARE EXPECTED TO MEET ABOUT THE PROPOSED PLAN WHICH INCLUDES BUILDING A 120-BED HOSTEL ON ROUGHLY 4.5-ACRES BETWEEN GIGLING ROADAND SIXTH AVENUE.   THE PROJECT WOULD BE BUILT IN FOUR-PHASES OVER A DECADE.  THE NEXT PHASE WOULD FOCUS ON RENOVATING ONE OF THE EXISTING ARMY BUILDINGS TO PROVIDE BASIC HOSTEL FACILITIES, WITH 35 BEDS, TWO BATHROOMS, A COMMUNITY KITCHEN AND COMMON ROOM.   THE SITE HAS BEEN PLANNED FOR A YOUTH HOSTEL SINCE 1995.
