The Better Business Bureau is warning users of the Zoom videoconferencing platform about a scam that is coming from those looking to steal your information such as log in credentials.
The scam comes in the form of an email pretending to be from Zoom stating that your account has been suspended or that you need to reschedule a meeting you might have planned.
Clicking on these links could lead users to installing malware on their computer or having other online accounts that share the same username and password compromised.
The best way to determine whether an email from Zoom is to check the email address it originates from as bad actors can forge the Name field. Emails from Zoom typically come from the email address support@zoom.us. Meanwhile, similar phishing scams have been reported for Apple users.
