A LOCAL YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM IS SEEKING HELP FROM THE COMMUNITY. WORK-4-YOUTH IS A SUMMER JOBS PROGRAM THAT PUTS AT-RISK YOUTH AGES 14 TO 24 IN WORK PLACEMENTS IN SANTA CRUZ COUNTY. LAST YEAR 49 STUDENTS RECEIVED JOBS DUE TO THE INITIATIVE AND THIS YEAR WORK-4-YOUTH HOPES TO ASSIST ANOTHER 47. DUE TO THE ESTIMATED 1600 TO 2000 DOLLARS IT COSTS TO PLACE THE STUDENTS AT A WORK SITE, WORK-4-YOUTH IS LOOKING TO THE COMMUNITY FOR DONATIONS. DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE AND FOR THOSE BUSINESSES THAT CHOOSE TO HIRE A STUDENT, THE COUNTY OFFICE OF EDUCATION WILL HANDLE THE PAPERWORK, EVEN PAYROLL.
