In state news… if you’re planning a camping trip to Yosemite this summer… your campsite choices may be limited.
Park rangers have decided to close the five high sierra camps that are accessible only by trail… because of late winter snow. In fact, the highest camp, Vogelsang at over 10-thousand feet, is still buried under eight feet of snow… while Cathedral and May lakes are still iced over.
Campers who were lucky enough to win the lottery for those high sierra camps this summer will no doubt be disappointed… but they’ll be offered a spot next summer.
