A Carmel man, who was a World War I vet, was finally laid to rest this week, beside his wife’s remains. The cremains of PFC Edward Auton Adams, who died back in 1991 (at the age of 100), were transported Monday to San Francisco National Cemetery. That after Adam’s ashes were discovered in his attorney’s closet, after new tenants moved into the building.
Adams’ military unit was among the first to arrive in France in 1917, and among the last to return home in 1919….after the Treaty Of Versailles was signed.
