Watsonville nurses are expected to be back at work today following 3 days of rallies and picketing. Nurses at Watsonville Community Hospital walked off the job Tuesday, in what was intended to be a 24-hour strike regarding staffing issues, but then were turned away when they attempted to return to their shifts Wednesday. A rally with over 100 nurses was held yesterday in front of the hospital over lagging contract negotiations and the lock-out. Nurses, who say they want increased staffing to better care for patients, are said to be readmitted today. No talks with Union representatives have been scheduled.
