The new mass vaccination site in Watsonville opens today in the old Town Hall at 250 Main Street. Covid-19 vaccines there will be administered there by appointment only, and they are for those people in Phase 1A, or residents aged 75 and older, or residents aged 65 and older who’s mailing addresses are in the following 3 south county zipcodes: 95019, 95076, and 95077. Watsonville was chosen as the site for this clinic because approximately 60 percent of known Covid-19 cases in Santa Cruz county have been in the Watsonville area, but that area accounts for only 29% of the county’s population. The clinics will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., today through Monday, and will offer 210 vaccination appointments per day. People are asked to bring proof of their age and residence.
