This week, Watsonville lawmakers approved additional documentation requirements, for rabies vaccinations in the city. city council members amended a city ordinance, to require veterinarians to send a certificate approved by santa cruz county, to the county animal shelter. The documentation must be mailed within 30-days. In addition, any owner of a dog that was vaccinated outside of Watsonville, must also send a certificate within 30-days of bringing the dog into the city. state law requires dogs older the 4-months, to be vaccinated against rabies.
