Watsonville’s newest police officer has begun active duty. 2-and-a-half year old Ellex is the department’s new canine officer. Ellex is teaming up with officer mish radich to become the department’s 2nd canine team. Along with dorro and his handler master officer eddie Santana, the department will now have a canine unit available during both daily patrol shifts.
