Watsonville Police are investigating a homicide, after a 20-year-old man was shot to death on Saturday night. Officers had received a noise complaint just after 10:30 p.m., about music coming from the apartment building at 222 Clifford Avenue. Minutes later, nearby residents reported hearing gunshots in the area. While investigating the party, officers received a call from staff at Watsonville Community Hospital, who reported a victim of several gunshot wounds had arrived at the hospital. He was pronounced dead shortly after. The crime is believed to be gang motivated, and police do not have any suspects.
