26-residents were displaced Thursday night, after their Watsonville apartment complex caught fire. At about 11:20 p.m., a fire started in the parking area of the union street complex. Nobody was injured in the blaze, which was extinguished by firefighters after pg & e workers shut off electricity that was flowing to a downed power line. The fire is believed to have been sparked by a cigarette that was discarded on a sofa in the parking area. the American red cross assisted the displaced residents.
