Authorities in Watsonville arrested a man on Tuesday, after he was allegedly caught transporting a half-pound of marijuana. 19-year-old jesus Anaya told police officers that he had medical card that permitted him to carry the marijuana, however officers say they found evidence of the drug being sold, as well as evidence of gang participation. Anaya was arrested, and booked into santa cruz county jail. Also on Tuesday, members of the gang task force made a separate arrest, at a house on the 1-hundred block of Rodriguez street. 25-year-old Anthony angel Jimenez was arrested on weapons charges, as well as a parole violation.
