after 30 years of service to the watsonville police department, master officer steve nakamoto has announced he’ll be retiring at the end of this week. nakamoto enrolled in the police academy after graduating high school in 1976, and joined the watsonville police force in 1981. nakamoto has been serving as the LIAISON officer with the department of alcoholic beverage control, as well as the personnel and training manager for the department.
