Police say a Watsonville robbery suspect faces additional charges after making an escape attempt while being examined by doctors prior to going to jail. But when the handcuffs were removed 30-year-old Michael Cervantes ran toward the exit.
The officer guarding the door then tased Cervantes. After a second medical clearance, he was taken to jail.
