AN 84-YEAR OLD WOMAN WAS TRAPPED BRIEFLY IN HER VEHICLE (TODAY) MONDAY MORNING AS A RESULT OF A CAR ACCIDENT IN WATSONVILLE. THE UNIDENTIFIED WOMAN, VISITING FROM MEXICO, WAS DRIVING WEST ON RIVERSIDE WHEN A HONDA DRIVER REPORTEDLY TURNED LEFT ON COWARD AND DIRECTLY INTO THE WOMAN’S TOYOTA TERCEL. THE 84-YEAR OLD NEEDED ASSISTANCE TO REMOVE HER LEGS FROM THE CAR. SHE WAS TRANSPORTED BY AMBULANCE TO WATSONVILLE COMMUNITY HOSPITAL WITH NON-LIFE-THREATENING INJURIES. THE OTHER DRIVER HAD MINOR INJURIES AND WAS NOT TREATED.
