Trials Begins to Decide Future of California Properties- 12/02/14 10:00 S.S.

A trial is set to begin in San Francisco Superior Court today that could decide the fate of eleven California-owned properties. At issue is a lawsuit that is designed to force the state to honor its 2010 sale of the properties to California First LP. State officials say the contract was terminated when California First failed to make a payment on time. The eleven state-owned properties that are part of the sale-leaseback initiative are: five government buildings in Sacramento, 2 in San Francisco, (including the San Francisco Civic Center), 2 in Los Angeles, (including the Ronald Regan State Building), 1 in Santa Rosa, and 1 in Oakland.
