With Summer incoming and dry weather continued, the time to prepare for fire season is near.
Buck Dinyari with Earthwise Land Services issues the following tips for protecting a home against wildfire:
- Thin out the trees. Taking away excess fuel is important.
- Make sure that there is no fuel around the house that could cause the trees around your house to burn
- Get rid of the shrubbery underneath trees that isn’t landscaping, such as poison oak, greasewood, anything old/dry/not useful in order to protect the yard.
Dinyari also mentions that finding contractors to help clearing fire hazards can be difficult given the increase for demand, which is why he recommends getting prepared sooner rather than later.
