Once again local health departments are warning people to be very cautious about which wild mushrooms they gather and eat. That’s because, as usual (once it starts to rain on the central coast, and mushrooms start popping up all over the place), local hospitals have seen an increase in the number of cases of mushroom poisonings. Health officials recommend that people who experience abdominal pain, cramping, vomiting, and/or diarrhea (after eating wild mushrooms) seek medical attention….because that type of poisoning can lead to death.
