As crowds flock to the beach as summer hits full swing, santa cruz health officials are reminding residents and visitors to be aware of water-quality advisories. Signs are posted at affected beaches, when high levels of bacteria are detected. Cowell beach is still marked with advisory signs, from west of the santa cruz municipal wharf to lifeguard tower 1, and extending east of the wharf (about 50-meters).
