Whale Watchers 1/31/20 5a Ci

Whale watchers in the Monterey Bay are noting that the gray whale migration is happening a little later than usual this year.

 

Experts are also seeing more calves this year than they’ve seen in the past. Normally, whale watchers see one or two calves… this year the number is up to nine.

 

Gray whale migration in the Monterey Bay usually peaks in mid January but it’s just within the last week or so that whale watchers have seen an upward tick.
