SANTA CRUZ FIREFIGHTERS RESCUED A WOMAN AFTER SHE FELL ROUGHLY 30 FEET OFF A CLIFF. AT 7:42 FRIDAY NIGHT, FIRE FIGHTERS AND OTHER RESCUE PERSONNEL RESPONDED TO REPORTS THAT A WOMAN IN HER 40’S HAD FALLEN FROM WESTCLIFF DRIVE NEAR MERCED STREET. RESCUE SWIMMERS PROTECTED THE VICTIM FROM THE INCOMING TIDE UNTIL SHE COULD BE PULLED TO SAFETY. SHE WAS TAKEN TO AN AREA HOSPITAL THEN TRANSFERED TO A BAY AREA TRAUMA CENTER FOR NONE LIFE THREATENING INJURIES.
