a vice-president of wells fargo bank was arrested on suspicion of d.u.i. in carmel valley on friday night. 52 year old kevin stapleton led monterey county sheriff’s deputies on a short chase along carmel valley road just before 9:30 p.m, reaching speeds in excess of 85 miles per hour. after pulling over, deputies attempted to remove stapleton from his vehicle, but he resisted. deputies wrestled stapleton to the ground and handcuffed him. he was cited for d.u.i. and arrested.
