a santa cruz man was sentenced on monday on charges of brandishing a handgun on the u.c. santa cruz campus in april. 23 year old joel michael covarrubias pleaded no contest to the allegations that he brandished a gun during an argument with his wife on april 16th. covarrubias was sentenced to 150 days in jail.
