Farmers here in Santa Cruz County are required to send an application to the Agricultural Commissioner to use hazardous agricultural pesticides.
Watsonville City Council members this week passed a resolution asking the Agricultural Commissioner to post advance notices of future pesticide applications online.
Those supporting the move want advance warning if hazardous pesticide drift is possible.
But, Agricultural Commissioner Juan Hidalgo said his office does not have the resources to post such notices in advance.
