Police in Watsonville say a 36-year-old man is in custody after a stand-off with officers after the man reportedly stole money from family members.
Everado Sanchez is accused of breaking into a family home on Rodriguez Street around 7 a.m. Tuesday where he stole a large amount of cash.
A short time later, police spotted Sanchez driving near Freedom Boulevard.
Police said they ordered Sanchez to come out of his truck for about 45 minutes before a relative helped convince Sanchez to surrender.
Sanchez was arrested and booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail for felony burglary and resisting arrest.
