A Watsonville skilled nursing facility now has twenty-seven residents and six staff members who have tested positive for coronavirus.
That’s more than a third of the 73 residents of the facility, the Watsonville Post Acute Center.
Santa Cruz County Health Officer Dr Gail Newel made the announcement at a Thursday morning news conference. Newell called the outbreak “very significant and worrisome” with serious potential to grow and result in fatalities.
