While the rate of new COVID-19 cases in Santa Cruz County continues to fall, nursing homes remain at higher risk than the community. The Watsonville Post-Acute enter has seen 46 residents and 15 staff members test positive for COVID-19. Nine residents have died with COVID symptoms.
County officials say they are working with the facility to cut the spread of disease and the number of cases. The California National Guard is also providing staffing support for the facility. County health officials say they continue working closely with Watsonville Post-Acute to bring the outbreak under control
