Due to high levels of Chromium 6 in the Watsonville water supply, the city has been ordered (by the state) to make 20 million dollars worth of upgrades to its water system (by July). Because the city doesn’t have the money right now, a Central Coast lawmaker is proposing a bill to give the city more time to make the necessary changes. The issue is expected to be discussed at this evening’s Watsonville City Council meeting at Civic Plaza.
