School officials looking to open a charter school in Watsonville are taking the case in front of the Santa Cruz County Office of Education. Navigator Schools, a nonprofit that has two charter schools in Gilroy and Hollister, submitted plans to open a school in Watsonville in March. But Pajaro Valley Unified School District officials denied the application, citing several issues brought up by district staff. The hearing is slated for 4 p.m. Thursday in the Board Room of the county’s education office at 400 Encinal Street in Santa Cruz.
