Watsonville Police arrested a transient for arson on Saturday. At about 11:30 a.m. fire crews responded to a reported grass fire on the 14 hundred block of Freedom Boulevard. A witness notified officials that a man had started the the blaze by igniting a sleeping bag. The suspect was apprehended near by and booked into Santa Cruz County Jail.
