SANTA CRUZ COUNTY WATER OFFICIALS ARE MAKING AN EFFORT TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR DROUGHT FUNDING GRANTS BEFORE MONDAY’S DEADLINE. AROUND $3 MILLION IS NEEDED TO FUND THREE PROJECTS TO HELP THE COUNTY THROUGH THE WORST OF THE DROUGHT. PLANS INCLUDE A NEW INJECTION WELL IN SCOTTS VALLEY AND THE IMPROVEMENT OF WATER QUALITY AND GROUNDWATER WELLS IN SANTA CRUZ. $200 MILLION WORTH OF DROUGHT FUNDING GRANTS IS AVAILABLE STATEWIDE.
