More than 300 irrigation account customers of the Santa Cruz Water Department are now able to monitor their real-time water use. That’s because of a device that was installed in their existing meters. This month those customers became part of a pilot water meter program, and they have received notices of not only how they can monitor their water use, but that they can receive leak notifications via text messages or e-mails as well.
